Bitchin’ day

Got up early (5:15) found out that the side of bacon we got for Sam (the gay dog) at Longhi’s yesterday was still in the refrigerator, so I had bacon and eggs for breakfast. Endured a lot of accusatory looks from the dog and the wife (couldn’t you have saved a little bacon for me, both of them said) so I went to Kanaha with the Ku Nalu board and the Jimmy Lewis 11′X30″. Paddled out, caught a few waves. There were seven standup surfers there at 9:00 and one guy on a longboard. Weird how fast this standup thing is taking off. There was a guy on a 11’0 X30″ Jimmy Lewis, just like mine. He said it was the best standup board he’s found and he’d actually tried more of them than me.

Surfed for awhile until the wind got too strong, zipped back in and got the Ku Nalu and a 6.3 Superfreak and went right back out. The wind stayed light all day long, I had a blast in the waves. Came in and switched to an 8.0 Superfreak just as the wind got stronger (why does that ALWAYS happen) but toughed it out for the rest of the day. Waddled back to the car at 3:00 and stopped at the Ding King to see where we were with he Jimmy Lewis 11’7″ modifications. DONE!

Damn it looks cool. I almost brought it back the beach to sail it, but my shoulders said no.

Pictures tomorrow and a report on how it works. If looks have anything to do with it this will be amazing. I can’t wait.

Sam’s not gay! Just because a dog likes to stay clean, has a stylish collar, and occasionally likes to jump on other male dogs does not automatically mean he has a given sexual preference. I enjoy reading your otherwise informative blog (love the before/after pictures…what a stud), but you should be careful of such arbitrary labels in the future.

Perhaps I shouldn’t have set up email subscription. Diane would never have taken the time to figure out RSS.
