Multnomah Channel

It would be nice to find some local SUP surfers here in Portland–I want to do some long paddles, and I need to work out a way to do it without round-tripping. I’ve been cruising in the Multnomah channel and I think a run from the Hayden Island Bridge down to Scappose would be pretty cool. Lots of little side channels to explore, islands to look at, marinas and houseboat areas. If I don’t find anyone I’ll probably do it myself, but it would be nice to park one truck at the Scappose end (or wherever) and take the other twenty miles upstream to launch.

Here’s some photos from my new camera, and some video samples, including some gratuitious underwater stuff.

Here’s some video of paddling in the channel. I wa really just trying out the camera. I need to mount it to the board or me to get a decent idea of paddling the channel.

Here’s one of the Starboard 12-6 board. It includes some underwater views to show the nose and tail rocker. Obviously you can’t really talk when you’re shooting underwater. It looks like I’m drowning or something, but I was just holding the camera under.
